Hi, mooers,
Welcome back to Mooers' Stories! In this session, we are going to share the following topic: What's the biggest mistake you've made while trading?
We are all human beings, and making mistakes is human nature. When trading stocks, we are either driven by emotions, especially greed and fear, or we keep very high-profit expectations. Many stock traders enter the market at full speed, but they soon realize that it isn't that easy to keep making money. The prospects of making money lure people into this trading area, but the reality of losses may quickly bring deterrence and frustration. Therefore, as investors, you must understand that making mistakes is not uncommon. Even professionals in the stock market have made many trading mistakes. The key to their ultimate success is to learn from them and minimize them in the future.
Making mistakes is part of the learning process when it comes to trading or investing. While some trading mistakes are unavoidable, it is important that you don’t make a habit of them and learn from the unsuccessful experience. With that in mind, what's the biggest mistake you made? How much did it cost you? What lesson did you learn from it? Click to join the topic discussion now! --What's the biggest mistake you made?

I started trading in June and made few mistakes which I learned my lessons from them. Hopefully by mentioning them here, it helps other fellow traders to learn from them and avoid making the same ones.
1. I was using other platforms to trade passively for many years but when I started to become more active, the difference in commission charges began to make a huge different. Before using Moomoo, for the initial 3-4 months of active trading, the total commission charged was over $3k, which took...

Not truly understanding penny stocks.
Got hosed. Got wise and Got to studying about buying volatile stocks. Hindsight is 20/20 but I Digress.
Still Very Important lesson learned...
Do the DD on Everything and don't fall victim to what people say is a good buy because in the market no one can predict exactly what's going to happen.
Only trust your DD and if it happens to coincide with your research you maybe on to something. Trust in your self and know when to take profits over greed.
Happy Holidays to my fellow MooMoo's!

1) I only invest in companies whose business I understand.
2) I do my due diligence. I study their financial reports. I try to pay attention to industry developments and regulatory changes.
3) I only invest with money I do not need in the short term after setting aside sufficient funds for emergencies.
4) I split my purchases or do DCA. This helps me to avoid timing the market and detach my emotions from the action of investing.
5) Be greedy when others are fearful. A market correction offers the best opportunity to buy undervalued companies.

Tiggerpepper : Don’t sell your losers , including the bankrupt companies.
Kwa Hock : Horse rear gun
Jamesim : Fall in love to the stock. Never break up with them in right time.
苹果万能 : My biggest mistake is that every time the stock market starts, I see a few stocks go up, and I buy them along. As a result, I lose money every time, haha
Dino 64 : Slow down. Take a step back. Not to watch constantly in panic mode when things drop. Fluctuation is part of the game. learn more about the stocks looking into not just the numbers but the overall company and history.
