Stocks traded flat and climbed Tuesday after CPI inflation numbers came in just 0.1% higher than expected.

Core inflation, which strips out volatile components like food and energy, eased to 3.8%, the lowest in over two years but higher than Wall Street's forecast of 3.7%. The monthly reading of 0.4% also topped Wall Street forecasts and matched the January reading.
