Renowned private equity firm TPG expects to go public on January 13th. It plans to list on the Nasdaq under the symbol "TPG."
TPG priced its anticipated IPO at $29.50 a share, in the first big test of the IPO market in the new year.
The pricing is at the midpoint of its projected range for the offering of $28 to $31 a piece. According to Barron's, at $29.50 a share, TPG’s valuation is $9 billion.

Pros: if options expire bellow strike price I get the stock at strike price-premium
if price falls the lowest price I can get the stock at is strike price- premium
Better than catching the falling knife
Cons: if price rises the most I can earn in the premium from selling puts
