Hi, mooers

There is an old saying, "Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall." This also applies to stock market trading. No one wants to lose, but losing money is part of the game. It ca...

It is always easy to look at any investing decision from hindsight. When we hold off on buying a stock or sell a stock at the wrong time, it can feel crappy when looking at the loss. Every investor will somehow face losses in one way or another when the stock market indexes slide $Dow Jones Industrial Average (.DJI.US)$, $Nasdaq Composite Index (.IXIC.US)$, $S&P 500 Index (.SPX.US)$ or stocks tank for whatever reasons. No investor will escape losses, but every investor...

The earnings season is picking up speed while $Netflix (NFLX.US)$ , the video streaming giant, is set to report its fourth-quarter earnings after the market close on Thursday.
As one of FAANG companies, Netflix will be a blockbuster of this week. Netflix has been on a downward trajectory since November, down nearly 25% from its all-time high.
Spurred by a surge in demand to watch videos at home during the pandemic, Netflix is the market darling of 2020,...

If trading were to be graded for their dramatic values, with a zero for a boring trading day and ten akin to a catharsis in a Shakespearean tragedy, then the landmark decline of $Alibaba (BABA.US)$ shares that swept throughout Q4 of 2021, would probably be rated as an 8. In the beginning, nobody could have believed that this catastrophe could have fallen on the Evergreen favourite $Alibaba (BABA.US)$ and worst of all it has to be a prolonged tumble of 52 weeks low.

Learn to control Emotions - big losses tend to make an investor emotional. It’s normal. But how you handle these emotions is critical. More often than not, emotional investors tend to act rashly. Don’t do that. Don’t be like a gambler in a casino - when you are losing money, don’t pump in more money in attempt to recoup back the losses. Take a break if you have to.
Learn from Mistakes - seek to understand what went wrong. Your trading method? Your temperament? The...

During March of 2020, the stock market crashed when the whole economy basically shut down due to Covid-19. One of my friend saw this comming and told me to sell everything and buy back in later, but I didn't listen. My profolio was down about 30% to 40%, I did not panic sell. Instead, I begin to buy a little by little everytime the market/stocks drops by more than 5% to 10%, during this time, I have to say it has been hard both emotionally and financially...

For most people, investing in the stock market isn’t their full-time job. If you’re on this boat, then don’t treat the stock market like it’s your full-time job. It’s good to go a few days without looking at your portfolio or making any investments. You can combine your break with the weekend. For instance, you can take Friday and the next Monday off. Since the market is closed on Saturdays and Sundays, you’ll end up with a 4 day break. And if you’re on vacation, don’t spend all of t...

The biggest mistake I made was to paint a rosy picture of $Twitter (Delisted) (TWTR.US)$ stocks when it was reigning as 52 weeks high at $80.7. This euphoric bubble on $Twitter (Delisted) (TWTR.US)$ is finally burst and $Twitter (Delisted) (TWTR.US)$ stocks are now sinking miserably. Instead of crying in despair and allowing failure to embitter me, I accept my loss as a challenge to better prepare myself to master more amazing strategies for future investments. Life is tough but so am I. Henceforth, I identify...

BULL HORN : losses are losses.. what to do .... cut loss and write off if hopeless
Invest SA2 : Just write off and eat less and spend less.
24497282 : get drunk then put more money
Scott Bailey : I have found it is best to let it go. One thing I found to help when trading stock is a short memory. You panicked selling the stock locking in these loss. Which will cause you to make bad judgements in future. Their is no way to stop losses in the market best you can do is learn from your mistakes. but don't dwell on them
