$MARA Holdings (MARA.US)$ stock price has gained more than 6% to $27.33 after hours when the SEC approval for Spot Bitcoin ETF was announced.
MARA shares have been in a steady uptrend since 07 December 2023, based on MARA moving averages. It has been trading above the 50-day MA period for more than 30 trading period. We have experienced a crossover about 10 trading days ago.

I'm very much in a learning and experimentation stage in the stock market in general and more so in option trading specifically. I'm a slow learner and also do not have a lot of time. What I have is the determination ![]()
I started to sell covered calls 3 weeks ago. Then I discovered rolling a covered call, so I put that into practice.
This week, I tried selling a put option and subsequently rolling it to maximize my income just in case the contract price goes down...

I use options trading for 3 purposes:
1. Buy value stock at cheap price
This is done by selling put options (covered) at a price you can afford. For example, if I want to buy 100 Apple share at USD 160 (currently is USD 180), it can be done by selling a put options at strike price USD 170. I can earn a premium while waiting for the price to drop (if the price drops).
2. Sell stock at a higher price
This is done by selling call ...

So besides my Covered Call strategy, I also love to use the Iron Butterfly strategy to manage risk in options trading. This involves selling out-of-the-money call and put options while buying even further options with the same expiry date. By doing this, I can collect premiums from both sold options while limiting my risk.

$META bottomed on the layoffs and cost cutting efforts months ago under $100. Facebook focused, specifically on efficiency and costs.
Now threads comes out out of nowhere, splitting the focus into the new product and providing additional costs.

I use simple options:
1. sell secured put to get the stock I want to buy. If assigned, i will get the stock at a cheaper price. If option expires otm, i get to earn some premium.
2. sell covered call to earn some money while waiting for the stock to be called away at a strike price I am prepared to sell.
3. buy bull call spread to gain limited profit if the stock price moves up.

- Two good breakouts for RIOT has bode well for the renewed interest in crypto counters
- Broke 12 and then 13.85 on Friday has created a frenzy now
- It closed exactly at fibonacci extension 1.618 on friday with now next target possibly 18 (may not be coming week)

I might be experimenting on other strategies like covered call and buy put strategy as a strangle if I am really certain that it will go bearish
