Many times we say "if". It would be good if I bought it at the beginning, and it would be good if I didn't sell it at the beginning, but there is no if in life, so investment is the same. We still do a good job of investing now. There must be a reason for not buying at that time, don't just continue to regret it, the investment you are making now is also good!
Happy investing, good luck to everyone!

$AMC Entertainment (AMC.US)$ i'm a strong believer in "don't invest what you can't afford to lose", and while i had access to more cash to put in, i didn't what to let my cash on hand go below 6 months of savings.
if was willing to be a little risker and keep maybe 3 months on hand, i would be up A LOT more right now. at the end of the day i definitely still feel i made the right decision, but seeing the gains on what i did put in, it's hard not to think "what if".

I bought when it first ipo.... then it started dropping so i quickly sold when it was back in the greens at around 280ish. Who would have thought that the crypto winter ended so suddenly and even coinbase stock is flying.... if only i had put my money into $Coinbase (COIN.US)$ instead of $Futu Holdings Ltd (FUTU.US)$ (price dropped >50% since i first entered the market.... but i'm still averaging down!....)

Many investors may miss the rare opportunity to buy high growth stocks at IPO price. It may take just one winning stock like $NVIDIA (NVDA.US)$ to yield exceptional returns for our investment portfolio. This could highlight the power of compound returns on a relatively small or moderate investment. Along with that, it shows the importance of patience for our investment. While it may be very tempting to sell a winner right after the initial gains, investors who see themselves as long term investors should keep holding the stock, with an understanding that it could be very challenging to find another company to invest in that is just as good as the one that we are holding. Many investors may be motivated to start selling shares once the initial investment generates some gains. But if we have the mindset to let the winners run, all it takes could be just one moderate $NVIDIA (NVDA.US)$ investment in our stock portfolio to fetch outsized returns.

If you don't have that kind of feeling, it just means two things, (1) you buy stocks just to develop some conversations with peers to make you look like “in the know”, (2) YOU JUST DIDN'T BUY BIG ENOUGH! Seriously, all seasoned investors (I mean both amateur or professional) all should have encountered this before. Why I didn't sell earlier (to cut losses) or later (could have profited more)? We are all governed by emotions. If we are on the high, we will just wait out to the maximum and then sell to probably get to scrap the top of the cream. If I just lost $10K, and I need this money to pay for my rental in the coming week, I profit $300 and I would scamper away.
Needless to say, most of us would have fallen for the TESLA trap and now the NVIDIA one. When they were $800 and $190 just few months ago respectively, I had scampered away after $40-$50 profit each share. Who would not then? If you didn't, then you are probably the two categories I mentioned above. It pained me so much each time during the pre-market to see “ TSLA and NVDA rose by 6-10%” each time because I DON'T HAVE A SINGLE SHARE IN IT BUT I DID PREVIOUSLY!
So I can only comfort myself that I still have some MICRON and IBM elsewhere pending to shoot to the moon!
Investment is like this. You lost some here; you better wake up your idea to earn more somewhere else. Nett Nett you are still be in positive position. Else, it is a really a painful experience and encounter. Especially when Xmas is coming, you are supposed to have money to buy Xmas gift but stuck in some paper loss in Paypal and Moderna etc… sobz…
“Can you kids hold on for another year first to get your Xmas gift when Paypal and Moderna recover? You will get 2 gifts then. Sorry!”
Play within your means. That is how I consoled myself. Lose, never mind, just don't lose your mind and spirit. Miss the boat, try the other boat beside it!

$Apple (AAPL.US)$ A lot of people in this discussion board talking about regretting selling stocks. One maneuver I frequently make when I feel a stock is doing really well, but perhaps either becoming too large of a percentage for my portofolio -or- I feel the stock might be way over valued, I’ll just sell a portion of the stock I own (maybe 25%, 50%, 75%, etc.). Then, if the stock really takes off (again), I’ll still get a great return and I’ll avoid the fear of missing out. Alternatively, if it dumps, I won’t be losing nearly as much.
Not an uncommon strategy, but just wanted to remind some folks! I did this today with AAPL. I think I maybe sold like 10% of my shares.

Last week a friend shared that he finally sold half of his thousand shares in $Tesla (TSLA.US)$ and used it to buy a real Tesla car. Previously another friend sold his $Apple (AAPL.US)$ during the boom and used it to downpayment for his new house. Very inspired by them, i entered the market. My stocks also getting doubled or multi-folded…at least in my dreams. When i opened my eyes then i see my portfolio halved again. Well, this is life!

Is it just me or you all have the same encounter where you didn’t sell a certain stock and the price just keeps dropping thereafter or when the price keeps increasing after you have finally decided to sell the stock? Yes, I have a number of regrets 😔 if only I have not sold off my $Tesla (TSLA.US)$ $Alphabet-C (GOOG.US)$ $AEM SGD (AWX.SG)$ $HongkongLand USD (H78.SG)$ etc 😔 All of them went up much more after I sold off (not much price movement when I was holding them). If only I have put in the money in $Futu Holdings Ltd (FUTU.US)$ when it dropped below USD 50 or bought into $Sea (SE.US)$ when it was below USD 200 or bought into $Alibaba (BABA.US)$ when it dropped to USD 140 😔 or $Netflix (NFLX.US)$ when it was at USD 509. Well, I hope I’ve become wiser and recognise the value of such good stocks (and not panic when the prices starting correcting or dropping). Hope I have a chance to own these stocks (not at their current high prices la) in future 😊 still learning 😊

$Tesla (TSLA.US)$ A friend/coworker of mine (who actually got me to start investing) wanted to buy tesla at 400~. We're broke af, so all he could have bought was 1 share, maybe 2. Ended up not buying because we got our payment cut in half (we work in a hotel, no work, no money) and he needed the money to pay rent.
I dont want to imagine how he felt when tesla went to 800. Lel.

If I have listened to my friend to put my money in $Alibaba (BABA.US)$ when it went below USD150. Have wanted to own this. But it went up before I could get it. What a waste.
