May 2024 is behind us and it’s been quite an exciting month for me! 🎢 The month is up 4.8% for S&P and my Moomoo portfolio ended May 4.96%. And my trading portfolio ended up 10.5% for May. Not too bad but i made a few mistakes that erased half the gains for the month and i am going to shared here so I can reflect on the lessons learnt and be better! 💪🏻💪🏻

May is the month I got curious about Option and actually tried it. My first call option on AMD spending $50 gave me 10x return. call it luck or what's not, I got hooked and since then have repeated some successes and failures on other symbols.

I did spot May's trading hotspot - and that is the glove stocks.
In Mar, $Top Glove (BVA.SG)$ bottomed at 0.22 at the 0.215-0.225 support zone. Then, it went on to break out of the downtrend line. It surged from there. The US reported that they will increase tariffs on China medical gloves, syringes to 25% and face masks to 50%. The tariffs on gloves are set to go into force in 2026, while the proposed duties on masks and syringes will take effect in Aug this year. This will ma...

In previous months I mentioned how I started out learning day trading/active trading, for May I decided to learn how to trade options due to the rise of the meme stock craze.
overall the p&l is positive but I had both big gains and losses that hurt my feelings.
I think I'll be learning cash secured puts and covered calls in the following months as May was mainly buying, June might be mostly selling options instead.

I have changed my strategy in May. I temporary stopped/ skipped China related stocks and concentrate mostly in SG market.
I have drawn a map ( a trip to 荷兰）for SG market, Not bad , using that map, my Moomoo acc achieved a double digits recovery.![]()
And all my other accounts achieved double digits positive returns too. ![]()

Will plan another SG market trip soon. Might return to trade some China related stocks too.![]()

I am more of a buy and hold kind of investor and I didn’t trade much this month. I’m quite happy with the figure displayed for this month. $Fullerton SGD Cash Fund (SG9999005961.MF)$ has given me steady returns while the value of my stocks fluctuated. $Apple (AAPL.US)$ is holding nicely in part due to share buybacks.
