"100% Nvidia's fault" Huang Renxun admits flaws in the Blackwell chip
(New York 24th) Graphics chip giant Nvidia $NVIDIA (NVDA.US)$ CEO Huang Renxun confirmed in Denmark on the 23rd that the company's latest Blackwell artificial intelligence (AI) chip design does have "flaws", it can operate but with low yield. However, he admitted that this flaw is "100%" Nvidia's fault.
According to World News Network citing Baha Breaking News, Huang Renxun admitted that the flaw in this design is "100% Nvidia's fault", and Taiwan Semiconductor has assisted in rectifying the situation, showing progress at an "incredible speed".
In addition, Huang Renxun stated that European AI investment lags far behind the United States and China, despite the world's first AI regulatory rules coming into effect in August. So far, only a few European AI companies, such as France's Mistral and Germany's Aleph Alpha, exist. The EU must catch up urgently.
Huang Renxun said: "The EU must accelerate the development of AI. Every country realizes that data is now a national resource."
Huang Renxun launched a new supercomputer in Denmark called Gefion, boasting 1528 graphic processing units (GPUs) built in, developed jointly by Nvidia, Novo-Nordisk Foundation, and Danish Export and Investment Fund.
Denmark plans to use this supercomputer to accelerate new drug development, disease diagnosis and treatment, and overcome complex life science challenges.
Huang Renxun said: "The era of computers assisting in drug development will come in the 2020s. This will be the era of digital biology."
