I started trading last April after a friend of mine convinced me to try it out. I started out pretty good and was happy taking my small gains along the way and at one point I was +$4,000. I ignorantly thought it was due to my skill, but it was mostly luck. A few bad trades caused me to act out of desperation and soon all my gains were gone and then some. I started to slow down a bit, learn more, and tried to keep my emotions in check. I panic sold some stuff at a decent loss and if I would've done more research and held, I'd be sitting on $50,000 right now. Instead, I am slowly but surely recouping my losses and the Moo community has helped me tremendously. I almost cut my losses and closed my account, but seeing the perseverance of others in the community changed my mind. I hope all of us find success on this journey and here is to a better and greener 2021! Special thanks to everyone I follow. I have learned something from each one of you!

One of my better trades toward the end of 2020. Swung it a couple times.

  • DisneyDad : Happy new year man. Thinking back I have lost 10s or 1000s since 2010 due to bad trades and desperation. But you learn when you lose and and that adds to discipline and risk tolerance threshold

Biggest thing I learned was sell half and take profits out no matter how small or big

  • DisneyDad : I meant to say tens of 1000s

  • JP88 OP : Also shout out to @Field of Greens@Lou Blacksail@pennypincher@consealit@Army Veteran@. Looks like I forgot a few.

  • treydongui JP88 OP : I feel you man it's easy since there are so many good people here

  • treydongui : way to get right to it. I could have copied and pasted this comment LOL. you've been here ever since I can remember and I'm sure glad you're still here fella. you know I was thinking what a great exercise here and to remind us of the friends we have and people that are on our side and going through the struggle just like we are. the through hard work determination and perseverance we will turn this into more than a hobby hopefully. I'm feeling very optimistic about this community and my friends here. you good people in my book buddy thanks for being a friend here

  • JP88 OP treydongui : Right back at you, buddy!!

  • Trippy Seraph : We all have losses! I don’t think anyone is a perfect trader. It’s hard to not trade with emotions, but you can overcome. Try to diversify your portfolio with the gains you make. Invest in different sectors you believe in that way if one sector isn’t doing so good hopefully the others will cover any losses.

  • Field of Greens : I appreciate the shout out. 2021 is going to be a great green year. Happy new year

  • JanetS : At the very beginning, we need to pay some tuitions(loss) to learn and grow🥸 as long as you take notes each time, you will become a sophisticated investor some day!

  • Chart guy : Happy New Year John, I started trading 20 years ago. I've tried so many styles, so many trading plans, read books, put together my own trading book, watched tons of videos......the best advice I have is to trust your intuition, and don't focus on day trading so much. The volatility and market movers will stop you out and you can pile up loads of small losses. Thing swing trading with wider stop losses..
