you should only be buying at support levels, for the most part.
unless you're not looking for short gains. long holds you need to not concern yourself with daily ups and downs unless it's setting up a trend in the wrong direction.
so, if you ARE trying to do short term swing trading, then only buy at previous hard supports or lower. and maybe set a limit if touched order to unload it if it drops more than a few cents.
