$AMC Entertainment(AMC.US)$ Honestly, were people really worrying about earnings. It's a meme stock. It is expected to be garbage.

  • GetMeABeerDude : well no. after this pandemic theaters are going to open back up. this is a good one.  of course last year was bad, duh!!!  gme, that's a meme stock. lol

  • Dramericanjesus OP : If streaming services find a way to monetize on releasing their properties without using theaters, don't you think that can hurt AMC's bottom line? I'm sure there was a time when people thought drive in theaters were going to be around forever. Streaming is changing the way we watch things.

  • Coffee Drip Dramericanjesus OP : hmmm.. Well you have steam for instant download games and a few more. .. did not seem to hurt GME at all.. SooOOOoooOOOo Yeah that's all the attention I am going to give this.

  • GetMeABeerDude Dramericanjesus OP : tru. I also heard a lot of talk about bringing back drive ins because of this pandemic.  I just don't see theaters going away for good.

  • Dramericanjesus OP : They will have novelty, just like drive ins, but I don't see the public running back to them a quickly as the current stock price would reflect.

  • GetMeABeerDude Dramericanjesus OP : but now that I think about it, if they continue to raise ticket prices and food prices and show stupid movies, they will shut down quickly.

  • Dramericanjesus OP Coffee Drip : Uhh... Gamestop was worth 2 bucks a share last march, and was dropping in value on the daily as it kept the same business model and refused to go digital. Yes, it was hurt. Badly. This current euphoria has nothing to do with Gamestop's business model. This is all FOMO.

  • demntia : it could eventually hurt the bottom line in time but people want out of the house. good ole fun outside the home entertainment.  how long have theater's been around?

  • Mcsnacks H Tupack demntia : Since the 20’s and for .05 you could take the whole family and get snacks. Now it’s about $200. Except in the 1920’s less than 1% of the population had a way to watch movies at home. Now you can build a better theatre system than the actual theatres for less than 5,000. And stream brand new movies for 29.99. Everything at the theatres right now you can watch anytime you want at home.

  • Cajun2girl : People will go back to the movies.  #AMC
