Apple to use Tesla battery packs in California solar farm
Apple Inc. has reached a deal with Tesla Inc. on using the company's electric batteries in its solar farm in Northern California, The Verge reported citing sources familiar with the matter.The composition will consist of 85 Tesla lithium-ion “megapacks” and store up to 240 megawatt-hours of energy, which will be used to power Apple's corporate headquarters in Cupertino, California.This is not the first time Tesla's megapack battery system would be used, as it's already powering up storage facilities in Australia and Texas. However, Apple argued the project was "one of the largest" in the United States, saying the system could power more than 7,000 homes for a day.
