Sinthetic : False equivalence. Lower cap stocks have less momentum and are more prone to swings. It's riskier, but trying to say there is no difference is laughable.

And your chances of a larger gain with penny stocks may be slightly higher, but those huge gain events are still few and far between (plus plenty of mid stocks go on similar tears as well)
A 10% gain compounded 10 times will generally do a LOT better for your portfolio than trying to chase that 100%+ gain on a penny stock -- and potential setups are much easier to spot. Midcap stocks are generally more regular and predictable and thus exploitable.

Mathew Midcap OP : honestly this post was directed to people that don't understand the basic math (that whether you have 1 share or 100, the % the stock rises is exactly how much your investment will rise) because I've seen a lot of posts that would suggest that isn't fully understood.
I've bought and sold penny stocks, I've even been successful with swinging SNDL, but I focused on cheap stocks for months when I first began and I wish I hadn't.
Make your own risk assessments. but consider this: an initial portfolio of 1000 compounded at a gain of 10% in a week, will net you 142k by the end of the year.
