Settling funds
$AMC Entertainment(AMC.US$ Does anybody knows how much time does it take for funds to settle in account after selling a stock? I sold other positions to buy an AMC option call but funds haven't settled and I don't want to buy the premium on margin. I need funds to settle so I can buy it cash.

STD0313 : 5 days I think.....but shares are the way to go....everyone has there own choice. But option calls gave hedgies inspiration to keep dragging this out to keep 15 dollar and up "cheap" call options paying them......
May not matter now. But it did hem this up for a bit
C w6 : Funds usually settle for most brokerages in 2 to 3 days. Some brokerages will give you instant credit for it and some have free margin they let you borrow against to keep it from affecting you if you are buying smaller amounts. I know for my ameritrade account it takes 3 days to settle but they don't charge me on margin unless I move several thousand dollars before it settles.
71875785 OP : thank you guys! I have 211 shares but I want to have an call option contract available as well. This will allow an additional 100 if I'm in the money and if it squeezes before expiration date. there will be a lot of tendies. So I do not wnat to miss the opportunity even though it is a risky move. I will wait 2-3 days until cash is settled from my sells today and buy that contract.
