Mooligan : Another point I would like to share is, in general, immediately after earnings are released, that volatility premium comes crashing down, lowering the value of all options, hence buy options few days before earnings is more risky than post earnings, there are also strategy to profit from the increase in IV, you can always search online to learn more :)
