Market Orders
Order Types (1 0f 10)
The market order is the most common type of transaction in the stock market. The typical default setting is the market order and that is due to the transaction’s simplicity and ease of use.
Market orders are designed to initiate as quickly as possible. The intent being to execute at the current ask price. This means you will typically find a trade filled at approximately the same value you see when you press “trade”.
A market order is an instruction for an IMMEDIATE buy or sell action.
Market orders can be filled during normal trading hours. 0930 – 1600 Monday through Friday.
A note of caution though. Be careful when using a market order while trading penny stocks. A few cents up or down can be the difference between a great and terrible position during a highly liquid trade.
