They then convey this info to Hedge funds because they earn a lot of money from hedgefunds. The hedgies can then manipulate the price such that it hits the sell limit to cause intense selling pressure.

voloxo : Not only hedgies but flash traders whom the exchanges allow to jump queue so they can buy ahead of u when it is going up and sell ahead of u when it is going down.
