My dad didn't teach me anything...

My dad is a horrible investor. He is 75 years old and has nothing to show for himself. No 401k, no savings, no IRA, no real estate, no stocks, no bonds. Absolutely nothing! We were constantly moving as kids from one place to another, sometimes we were borderline homeless just living with friends. If there is one thing I learned from dad is that I didn't want to be like him, atleast not financially. He was a loving father for the most part and for that I am grateful. Everything I know I tought myself. I have a beautiful home, savings, a 401k plan, I have investments and I run a small business. Basically I am the opposite of my father in that respect. I hope one day my two sons will follow in my footsteps, if I can teach them anything it's to not let life pass you by without a plan like my father. Perhaps this isn't the feelgood story moomoo was looking for, but it's a true story none the less.
