Greenhorn : I think it is more about what they say is fair trade. if they don't let you know about fees then you are more likely to get in a whole that you can't get out of kinda thing. basically moomoo is covering their bases

Liquid-Ape : Yeah I agree - I think this is about order execution. On the surface a zero dollar commission has the appearance of being free but what you might not get is the best possible exchange for that trade. Under the surface the brokers can manipulate the spread, amongst each other in routing orders for trades, to your disadvantage, and you’d never know it. Trades that cost upfront commissions are probably better because it sets out a competitive process that you’re paying for upfront in terms of execution, and discourages brokers from routing to spreads that benefit them over your trades execution priority.
