Investing in Crypto
It’s awesome that moomoo included crypto market into her app even though we cannot buy or sell without a crypto wallet. There is $Coinbase(COIN.US$ that we can invest in…. just like normal stocks. Personally, it takes away the headache to monitor the market as 90% of the crypto moves up/down together unless the buyer wants to maximise returns and do his risks accessment.
I think crypto is still at it’s infancy stage. Many of us may remember Netscape, Explorer, Friendsters…. in the early internet days when they were the dominent players…. fast forward today, they are almost gone. The same could happen to Bitcoin and Eth. It’s good to monitor the development and market acceptance of cryto-currencies but there is just too much factors that may put a sudden stop to the momentum. For example, governement inteventions, network bottlenecks, expensive transaction fees or gas fees…. etc.
Gamble (not invest) into it with your play fund. Definitely less than 10% of your portfolio. There is no fundamental value in the currencies (some have unlimited supplies - eg Doge Coins) and most owners don’t even make a purchase with the currencies! It’s just based on market sentiments - demand and supplies and every “investor” dream of a get rich fast scheme.
