Dark pool explanation

this is what i understand .
dark pool is a place where private institutes can buy and sell stocks without affecting the price of public exchange marker (it means that i can buy 1million shares off dark pool, public price will not even gain a single cent in value for the moment. like wise for selling)
example: i sell my Pokémon cards to my friend privately . it doesnt change the price in public exchange exchange . then my friend sell the cards at public exchange. driving the price of the specific pokemon card even further
so what some people do in dark pool is , to buy a massive amount of amc shares . then sell it on public exchange ( in this case , buying doesnt change the price of the share in market , but selling does)
this is the reason why public exchange is dropping

pennypincher : you forgot to add that when we buy our buys are being grouped together through pay for order flow and then being bought on the dark pool so only sells go through the open market. they get us coming and going. its amazing we are we are
