correct me if i am wrong, but doesnt short selling creat temprorary inflows? losses arnt recogized untill they cover which means recent inflows actually represent just how far they have gone down the short hol…. not a financial advisor

Adam Evans OP : Let’s say they have inflows of 6 billion and we deVide them by an average price of $40, that would mean they have sold 150 millions shares short in Q1. However if they have to pUrchase them back at an average price of $1000 per share,they would Be buying back $150 million at $1000 for a total of $150 billion. That would mean 144 bIllion in net outflows….. maybe I am missing something….
