10-year as Apple's CEO: Is Cook as great as Jobs?
Views 359K Contents 109

Tim & Steve: CEOs for different times

As @Dadacai mentioned in his post, Steve Jobs asked Tim Cook to lead $Apple (AAPL.US)$ in his own way. Indeed, different times call for different strategies and a suitable leader. Jobs was an idealistic visionary who built Apple into a cult brand. If he was still alive today, could Apple continue to be an industry leader based on its cult status?

Moving into the future, competition will become ever more intense. American companies are facing pressure from their Chinese counterparts, and to a lesser extent, up-and-coming players from other emerging economies in Southeast Asia, etc. Apple will need a fantastic businessman to navigate this quagmire of uncertainties and ambiguities. So far, Cook has proven himself the best man for the job.

I haven't always been an Apple fan but my admiration for the company's ability to execute its vision has certainly grown over the last 10 years. I'm excited to see how much further this 🍏 can roll in the next decade. It's unstoppable.
