pcwSg's US Stock Paper Trading Competition strategy reveal

End of Season 2...
And they added a new clause such that winners of any of the top 3 prizes will not be included in future leaderboards...
As such, i have decided to release my strategy.

If you have benefited from this and manage to win the $8888 top prize in future seasons, i dont mind receiving a portion of that as a token of appreciation
Considering the original plan was to win first 3 seasons before focusing on real markets with the $20k+...
Now my hopes are dashed... And lost a potential pot of gold which could have gone on to greater heights...

My records:

A pity that i only have 128% on record...
Wanted to go all out in Season 3 and possibly set a record of 200%+...
Which is achievable... Achieved only 128% because i spent more than half the time learning and optimising my strategy in Season 1... And only spent less than 2 weeks on Season 2 because the first 2 weeks were spent recovering from my second vaccine dose...

My scalping strategy requires time and a certain level of concentration and hard work... be warned... it wont be easy...
That said, scalping should honestly be left to bots... manual scalping made me experience and appreciate scalping at its most basic form.

Season 1:

Spent the first few days buying speculative stocks and lost money...
After deciding to switch to scalping, been a smooth and stable grind upwards.

Special mention that i left LVS inside my portfolio at the end...
MBS has always been a special place to me.

The strategy:
The strategy is known as bid/ask spread scalping.
The key is to find a stock with moderate volume, and wide bid/ask spread.

The method consists of only 2 simple steps:
1. set a buy limit order at or slightly higher than the best bid price
2. set a sell limit order at or slightly lower than the best ask price.

This will scalp the bid/ask difference as long as the stock stays in the same trading band.
If the stock falls sharply, you would have bought shares at a relatively high price and losses will be incurred.
When that happens, it is best to cut losses immediately and close the position... let the stock cool and stablize before continuing to scalp.
If the stock surges, you would have already sold the shares unfortunately. Can either FOMO in for risky scalps up, or just wait for the stock to cool and stablize.

My watchlist:

These are the 3 stocks i mainly scalp.
Because each position can only be up to 40% in this competition, so minimum would be 3 stocks...
i started with scalping only 1 stock, to 2 stocks, to constantly 3 stocks at the same time.
Have few other backup stocks which are not as optimal, but useful as a substitute when any of these 3 stocks is quiet...
These 3 stocks would already be a handful and good profits under normal circumstances.

That would be the end of my strategy.
Hope someone benefits from my experience and goes on to win any of the remaining seasons...
Truly believe winners of remaining seasons would mostly be scalpers, and hope to see someone break the 200% mark.

Times are hard for a jobless newbie trader like me... Slightly greedy to want to win all first 3 seasons consecutively... but i really needed the money...
Do appreciate anyone who contributes to my journey of becoming a consistantly profitable trader.
Good luck to everyone in future seasons.
