I look at the metrics, Float and Amplitude. The lower the float count, the more unpredictable and volatile the stock is. The higher the amplitude, the larger fluctuations it have during a trading period. I personally pick a good range of float and amplitude to ensure there is stocks movement, around ~8% amplitude. This is just my personal preference, for traders who prefer stability to opt for lower amplitude stocks.
I'm a beginner in it, please pardon my inexperience.
