Basically greed, that is the main motivation to trade and invest. What else is the real reason? Other reasons are nothing but to masquerade and obfuscate the truth!
Whatever the time horizon and purpose, the ultimate objective to trade and invest is to gain more money than you initially put in.
Money is lost due to greed, money is made due to greed. Haha

iceswimmer : I don't look at it this way. I think making money in the market means i get what i actually deserve coz i put a lot of effort in it. I don't like the idea of considering myself a greedy person lol, or maybe im just fooling myself
