According to media reports, Tesla's new generation of autonomous driving chip HW 4.0 will be manufactured by Samsung. Since the beginning of 2021, the chip foundry departments of Tesla and Samsung have been working on chip design and samples. Recently, Tesla has decided to outsource HW 4.0 foundry to Samsung, and the chip manufacturing process is 7nm. Samsung Electronics plans to mass-produce HW 4.0 chips using 7-nanometer technology at its Huaxing plant in South Korea as early as the fourth quarter of this year.

phLz : Broke off with TSMC? Although in the chip foundry manufacturing industry, Samsung is second only to TSMC
NotRoss : That Warren guy that everyone says is the super unrealistic bull, his estimates are not unachievable really. Do your own math, but Tesla could very well be a 3T market cap by end of 2023 (excluding autonomy). The speed at which they will be accelerating through the S curve will be unprecedented.
