谷神巴菲特菲巴 : good
KJ22_2 : I think both still have their merits. I would definitely rely more heavily on clean energy for the long term though.
Mike Hunt : I want a car run by the cleanest carbon free energy on our planet that can run for years without recharging or refueling. I’m waiting for nuclear powered cars that employ a tiny nuclear reactor. The reactors on submarines are actually not very large. Just need one probably 1/10th the size. Nuclear energy is our only energy source not derived directly from our own sun. Oil is decayed plants and those hydrocarbons were formed by the sun. Hydroelectric works by the sun evaporating water and it raining behind the dam. Wind energy is by differences in temperature caused by the sun etc. but nuclear energy comes from Atoms that were created by stars that exploded before our sun even began to form. All elements with more nuclear protons than iron are only formed by supernovas gluing extra protons together in an atomic nucleus. So nuclear energy represents energy from a star that existed before our solar system. And it was in the dust that hhappened to form ourplanet.
Mike Hunt : It’s a crazy concept to think about but when we use oil we are actually using the energy from sunlight that occurred 20 or 30 million years ago.
Mike Hunt : But sailing my 72 foot schooner solo is my favorite mode of transport
GT1982 : In my opinion oil&gas industry is one that will still stay relevant and will never cease to exist at least in this generation.
There are just too much political games in play where these commodities are used as leverage for bargaining chips.
Not to mention the rich and powerful families are so invested in this industry that any upheavals in the upstream, downstream or both will almost certainly cause disorder in the world. Only question is the magnitude.
On the other hand EV is no doubt the future of the world and a major part of environmental preservation where vehicular emissions are a major part of the equation to be solved.
Sh0ryuKen : I haven’t bought into Tesla yet but would love to once i free up the stocks on hands.
mark01bravz : well we shall see in 2025. remember the horse vs car pic back in 1914 ?
mrtruelove : It’s depend. In 3rd world country definitely EVs cannot replace traditional cars but in 1st world country EVs can.
