Worldwide personal computer sales growth slowed in the third quarter of the year as the sector continued to deal with a mix of issues including ongoing backlogs in supply chains and rising component prices.
$Apple(AAPL.US$ also had a strong quarter, with a 9.3% market share, as its Mac shipments climbed 14.4% to 7.8 million units. Acer rounded out the top five PC makers, with shipments that rose 5.7%, to 6.08 million devices, and an overall 7.2% market share.
$LENOVO GROUP LTD(LNVGY.US$ held onto the No. 1 spot among with PC makers, with a 23.5% market share and 19.8 million shipments. However, Lenovo's shipments rose just 2.5% from a year ago. Second place $HP Inc(HPQ.US$ had 21% of the PC market, but its 17.6 million shipments fell by 5.7% from the third quarter of 2020.
