[Rewards Calling] Value investing or tech innovation? Buffett or Cathie Wood?
Cathie Wood's tech-focused $ARK Innovation ETF (ARKK.US)$ gained more than 150% in 2020. How crazy! You could never find another fund generating similar returns in one year!

But to be honest, I really don't know if she's a good fund manager. ARKK lost about 4% in 2021 and Cathie Wood seems to have a hard time. However, Buffett's value investing fund $Berkshire Hathaway-A (BRK.A.US)$ gained 23% this year and has generated positive returns for 6 consecutive years.

I think Cathie Wood was just lucky enough to catch the tech ride, or $Tesla (TSLA.US)$'s ride, last year.

Warren Buffett vs. Cathie Wood, who's the true guru?
Are you a value investor like Buffett? Are you a tech lover like Cathie Wood?

  • GoldenGold : Casey Wood: Still bullish on Bitcoin and Tesla

  • dongMooooMoooo168 : Buffett way of focusing on good fundamentals and strong financials still the good way in my opinion. Cathie is also good with her different kind of ETF

  • PirateyAhoy : Warren Buffett is truly the guru! He brought $Berkshire Hathaway-A (BRK.A.US)$ from an almost bankrupt company to the behemoth that it is now! His annual compounded returns over the DECADES proves that he is a true master of valuing companies and finding gems!

Cathie Wood really created and caught some waves of momentum, but she can only be considered a guru if she can sustain multiple years of compounded annual returns in both bull and bear markets. Thus far, she has only performed in this crazy bull market.

In my eyes, there is no fight, Buffett over Cathie Wood any day

  • Rocket Man : Warren buffet. Old ginger still spicy. Katie need to proof herself in the long run.

  • MonsterJar : Still believe in Value Investing. Buffet is the best.

  • Jajalore : Cathie is still holding on to her deal breakers

  • kenkoo : why not both?

  • cosmiclatte89 : In my opinion it really depends what type of investor you are and also the time frame you have.
I prefer value investing like Buffet but the calculation of intrinsic value of the stock is subjective that’s why there are so many jobs as analysts 😅. hence most people will say DYD, while calculating my own and buy when the price has drop remains my focus, I do like the speed of the run up for growth stock. Cathie identifies disruptive companies which itself is also subjective. Most human are programmed to be optimistic about the future that’s why I also like the new high tech growth stocks that seems so sexy. I will add 15-25% of Cathie names into my portfolio to get the euphoria of the run up. However if you are younger in age, why not? After all, your time in the market matters more than timing the market

  • GT1982 : With all due respect to Warren Buffet - I'm a great fan this man, but my choice is Cathie Wood simply because she combines beauty with brain and her figure is amazing.

No wait. I mean the figure on her portfolios.

  • yeoyo : Different stock perform better in different market cycles. growth stocks maystart outperforming as soon as people start losing hopes. Allocate wisely
