Earnings does affect stock price
AMD has just released their ER on 26Oct, the result was above expectation. However, their stock price did not rise much even with the goods earnings and achievable future roadmap.
Does it means that good earnings is not the main factor affecting stock price?
In my opinion, it does.
However, I think the price have dropped mainly due to market sentiment.
1. AMD price has continuously going up for the past 10 days
2. Current Stock Price may has already included the effect of good result .
3. Trading norm - sell before news
4. Panic selling - once the market starts to dip, many panic sell.
However, I must still say that Earnings will affect the stock price in the long run as it's still one of fundamental factors for investment.
The above are just my own assumptions.... I'm not an expert in trading.😊
