Jumped on the HK IPO boom and raked in 8 times his investment in just 6 months.
Last year, @Mr. Zhang’s company went for a secondary listing at the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, presenting an opportunity for him to enter the HK stock market. At first, his focus was put on HK IPO stocks, and he took a toe-in-the-water approach by investing only around 20000 HKD. Riding on the IPO rush, he was allotted shares of companies like Kwai, JD Logistics, and JD Health. It seemed that @Mr. Zhang was blessed with beginner’s luck, and that sent him on a winning streak on the HK IPO lottery system where his earnings ballooned to 160,000 HKD.
But behind the good luck was experience gained from investing. His philosophy was simple: pick a new stock with potential and figure out the number of shares required to subscribe with minimum cost while securing greater chances of allotment.
“The HK listing process is very complicated. In a way, the odds of allotment can be predicted if you look into the issue of a new stock, but there are also many other factors to be considered like the market environment. Take last year as an example, it was an optimal market climate for new stocks in the pharmaceutical sector, which jumped more than 50% or even 100% on the first trading day. Researching new shares requires a lot of time and energy. It can be overwhelming to analyze a new stock or a company’s prospectus when you are up to your neck in work. But that’s when Futubull Community comes in handy. On Futubull Community, I can access a huge knowledge base of quality contents from experienced investors who kindly share their studies and researches. I often learn from their analyses and make decisions by referring to my exchanges with other active users in the community. This way, I can earn more with less effort,” said @Mr. Zhang.
In addition to the experience of subscribing new stocks, there’s also an interesting story of how @Mr. Zhang met Futu Money Plus. It is at Futu’s 8th Anniversary Meeting in 2020 where @Mr. Zhang started to know Futu Money Plus.
Again, @Mr. Zhang started off small, using only a small amount of money to buy funds on Futu Money Plus. When researching the platform, he found that Futu Money Plus has a good reputation around the globe, providing many wealth management products that offer stable yields. When it’s off-season for IPOs, he said, “I moved my idle money to Futu Money Plus for some stable returns. Money Plus has a great feature enabling automatic sweeping of cash balances without impacting your regular trading.”
@Mr. Zhang’s investment principle, put simply, is to invest within a risk tolerance range that best fits his plan and goals. “Futu brought me additional gains that sit nicely alongside my salary from the full-time developer job. By buying low-risk wealth management products on Futubull, the returns I made are now equal to my salary.”
Make friends around him Futubull users
Many of @Mr. Zhang’s friends became a Futubull user on his recommendation. @Mr. Zhang believes that many of his colleagues pay attention to the US and HK stock markets because their companies offer an Equity Incentive Plan (EIP). “Whenever friends ask me to recommend an investment platform, I tell them without hesitation that Futu is the best choice. Futubull is typical of all user-oriented products and it excels in product design. It’s user-friendly in terms of both design and features, a perfect fit to users’ habits.”
