$GlobalFoundries (GFS.US)$ is only a $6B annual revenue company? That's... small. No wonder they couldn't keep up with the other larger fabs on leading nodes

JamesThatcher : Maybe. Mubadala owns the company, so the IPO sold shares gives the company cash, which can then go to expansion... or into Mubadala's pockets. Maybe a mix of both. That's probably set by the terms of the IPO. Maybe more likely after the IPO, Mubadala sells additional shares for its own cash, leaving the IPO cash for the company to use.
