Closing down would be quite far fetched. I think the issue is the uncertainty around impending regulatory scrutiny since Futu does not have a China brokerage license but do offer services in and around trading for mainland users that may or may not constitute a breach of regulations. So very much dependent on how the Chinese regulators want to play this. Fintech, especially for offering cross-border transactions, is after all evolving and should be allowed more time and guidance to be compliant.

Those holding brace yourselves.. those intending to buy should wait and time. Personal opinion.. long term prospects should bode well. But are you willing to ride out the storm?
