  • Dynamic wildcat : the thing is even if they are over capacity their potential growth is questionable unless they can expand capacity which they cant as it cost billions to start a new fab and not to mentioned the time it takes to build one which is why u dont see TSMC stocks flying off, rather fabless companies like Nvidia had their shares going x times

  • 幸运之拳 : rather invest in fabless company than foundry.

  • 102694360 OP : GlobalFoundries (NASDAQ:GFS) saw its shares climb more than 14%, Monday, just days after the semiconductor foundry went public, and its chief executive said a supply shortage in the chip sector could last for another two years or more.

  • Dynamic wildcat : yeap, the over capacity issue is because of covid which spike demand in electronics. however most of these demand will move to advance node sooner or later and the demand for legacy node like the one in singapore will only serve a handful of products like automotive which accounts abt 10% of electronics demand and with a lot of competition. gf gave up the game on advance node a few years back only samsung, tsmc and intel and maybe ibm can fab those advance node that u find products like our laptop, mobile  phone, data centre. so i gf long term plans is still a giant question mark.
