Is robotaxi as a service the direction that Hertz Global is heading?

"I think, importantly, what this is going to do we are going to become expert on managing large electrified fleets well before our competition and I think that's going to pay a lot of benefits for us today. And as you think towards autonomy down the road, we think we will solidify our position or create a bit of a moat on being that kind of central component of the mobility ecosystem because many providers of products and services are going to need that," Hertz interim CEO Mark Field told CNBC.
It cannot be ignored that autonomous driving and managing a robotaxi network requires powerful chips. Under-the-hood bets on future robotaxis could be made through $NVIDIA(NVDA.US)$, $Qualcomm(QCOM.US)$ and $Intel(INTC.US)$ .

  • Geminiasianboi : No, because Tesla are nowhere near offering a car that can drive from A-B empty (required for a tobotaxi), they're still fiddling with the sensor suite and computer just to support their SAE level 2 ADAS.
It's inconceivable that any Tesla built to date will ever drive on the open road with no-one at the wheel. It's a fantasy beyond the silliest musings of Elizabeth Holmes though conceived for the same purpose, to fool investors and customers into handing over their money.
    Taxis but no 'robo'.

  • arts food business Geminiasianboi : Your skepticism is identical to that of unimaginative horse and buggy drivers, who pooh poohed the automobile as a passing fancy only 120 years ago.

  • woodfill arts food business : Hardly, since the automobile was real and Musk's robotaxi is a stock-pumping fraudulent lie.
