By making an analogy with the human eye, we can know that the lateral velocity does not need to be particularly emphasized, because the target object with lateral motion is easily 'detected' by the human eye; but the radial velocity, whether the target object is moving away from you or towards you, and what speed it is, is actually difficult for the human eye to evaluate accurately, which is where FMCW lidar comes into play.
