First of all, we need to determine the general principle of asset allocation. Will the $1 million be invested conservatively or aggressively? Different levels of risk tolerance and holding time could directly affect the category selection by investors.
When allocating the $1 million, you need to understand both the market and yourself. Therefore, creating a portfolio that suits you the best is the most rational option.
You should make adjustments and strike for a balance after evaluating your risk tolerance, knowledge, and investment objectives. By setting these parameters, you could better build your portfolio.

To To start, decide what's your risk appetite & allocate budget accordingly - doesn't need to be ALL low risk or ALL high risk. Could be a range, then just pump in the $. (I like my ETFs but I also like to gamble it in memestocks/coins when I have cash to spare - liv a lil with the roller-coaster excitement la!)

Where to find trending markets? Just check out good old reddit if u have real balls to follow the convos there, if not, subscribe to finance articles/mags. Like The Economist.
