Daily Poll: AMD's new chip and big clients.
$Advanced Micro Devices (AMD.US)$ is about to enter the metaverse. Shares of AMD shot higher by 10% in afternoon trading.
The chip giant said its EPYC chips were selected by $Meta Platforms (FB.US)$ to help power its data centers at its virtual Accelerated Data Center Premiere event Monday.
AMD also offered a glimpse at its upcoming EPYC processors codenamed “Genoa” and “Bergamo.” AMD dubbed the Genoa processor as the "world’s highest performance processor for general purpose computing."
AMD now supplies numerous top companies with large data centers. On top of this, $Microsoft (MSFT.US)$ will use EYPC processors in its Azure cloud service, with AMD making a custom SKU specifically for Microsoft with extra memory.
Shares of AMD are up 65% year to date, out-performing the $NASDAQ (NASDAQ.US)$ 's 24% gain.

$Intel (INTC.US)$ 's stock is up 2% on the year
$NVIDIA (NVDA.US)$ has skyrocketed 127%.
