Justin Bieber to stage virtual concert
Justin Bieber is the latest pop star to announce a concert in the metaverse, partnering with virtual entertainment company Wave, amid a boom in interactive virtual concert popularity that began with Epic Games' "Fortnite."
According to Wave's website, Bieber will be performing as an "avatar" in his "own virtual universe," and fans will be able to "interact directly" with the star during the concert using virtual emotes, which are pictographs the artist can see.
The interactivity of Wave's virtual concerts shares a similarity to Epic Games' "Fortnite" shows, but the concert will be performed live, and will be streamed on Wave's website and YouTube on November 18.
Mooers, would you like to join Justin Bieber's virtual concert?
