Selling old stocks on Tuesday and Wednesday was not planned on 9/14; it was based on the results of a public opinion poll to sell the original stock holdings. Musk often directly alerts or suggests to fans that the stock price is high. (Don't chase highs) I've never met a CEO more conscientious than him.
