Amazon workers in New York withdraw petition for union vote

$Amazon (AMZN.US)$ workers in Staten Island, New York have reportedly withdrawn a petition to hold a vote to unionize.
The National Labor Relations Board confirmed that a group of Amazon workers withdrew their petition, according to an Associated Press report. The NLRB was set to hold a vote in less than two weeks on if there was enough interest for a union at an Amazon distribution center.
Earlier this year, Amazon workers at a fulfillment center in Bessemer, Alabama, voted against forming a union. The NLRB accused the company of tampering with the vote with an anti-union push, a claim the e-commerce giant denied.
In September, The Teamsters Union, one of the largest labor unions in the United States, reportedly campaigned to organize Amazon employees in at least nine facilities in Canada.
