AAPL autonomous car developments are still looming large in the electric vehicle
$Apple (AAPL.US)$ The report last week on Apple targeting the launch of an autonomous vehicle within four years continues to influence trading in the electric vehicle sector and with suppliers of autonomous technology. Some traders are trying to pinpoint which companies would benefit if Apple partners up with a manufacturer, while some analysts are making the case that an EV commitment from Apple could be supportive of the industry as a whole in terms of mass adoption. UBS and Loup Ventures, in particular, think Apple's AI tech is advanced.
$Aeva Technologies (AEVA.US)$, $Luminar Technologies (LAZR.US)$ and $Innoviz Technologies (INVZ.US)$ are all higher in morning trading.
$Canoo (GOEV.US)$, $Lucid Group (LCID.US)$ and $Fisker (FSR.US)$ were also notable gainers on the day.
Meanwhile, $Aurora Innovation (AUR.US)$ and $Ouster (OUST.US)$ are giving back some of the last week's gains.

Loose change : Moon
Brandon Golden : Media is increasingly noticing the link between Canoo and Apple.
I'm not expecting Canoo to make the Apple car (probably not financially interesting), but licensing their MPP would be a solid move for Apple. Until they develop their own skateboard for Apple Car 2.
Geminiasianboi Brandon Golden : My guess is Canoo (GOEV) quiet rise is related not to Apple, but to Amazon, after Amazon found that Rivian van is junky, so they are starting to look on Canoo.
Amazon is not obligated to buy anything from Rivian.
Canoo (GOEV) or Arrival (ARVL) might be their van choice.
IT farmer : What do they call BS in high tech, vaporware? Don't sweat it!
Marvan : What a bunch of speculative articles from wannabe analysts..
AAPL has not officially announced anything yet.
Too many hype rumors without any evidences.
r8ntdxstAw : Who would want an Apple car. It would cost 4 times more than their competitors and customer service would be horrible.
xoshi8HiuI r8ntdxstAw : Speculation is a Apple robotaxi service will roll out. They could have premium iCars for select buyers at say $100k+, wheel & pedal included with FSD.
Apple has great service and reliability.
RjqRwaUMHM xoshi8HiuI : Apple isn't really known for horrible customer service, so what makes you think that?
bAUwzKkxLL : Should add $2T to Apple’s market cap if Tesla is any indication…
Tesla will sell about 700-800k vehicles this year, $1.2T market cap, no FSD.
moonoooooo : AAPL will choose a US-based auto producer and domestic suppliers, no doubt. Apple is constantly under scrutiny for creating domestic jobs and Washington won't be happy if they partner heavily with Japanese producers/suppliers.
