Rivian could land big electric vehicle order from RV platform Outdoorsy

$Rivian Automotive (RIVN.US)$ and $Ford Motor (F.US)$ are in talks with recreational vehicle rental company Outdoorsy Inc. about potential electric truck and SUV orders over the coming years as the company looks to build out its rental fleet.
Outdoorsy is targeting an order of 1,000 Rivian trucks, according to Chief Executive Officer Jeff Cavins in an interview with Bloomberg. Cavins called the collaboration as a logical and organic alignment due to the company's focus on nature and camping. If a deal is struck, deliveries from Rivian are not anticipated until 2023 and Ford is called likely to fill part of the overall order.
Outdoorsy is a peer-to-peer marketplace for RV consumers and pros. "We’re the most comprehensive platform for outdoor travelers to rent stylish awesome RVs in the nation. Our selection spans vintage Airstreams, toy haulers, fifth wheelers, Class A, B, and C of RVs, as well as garden variety trailers and motorhomes," reads its description of itself. The Austin-based startup was reported earlier this year to be working with Goldman Sachs on an IPO that could value it at more than $1B.
Ford announced on Friday that it will not enter a joint venture with Rivian.
