If there’s one thing to be thankful for from the stock market experience, is it has elevated my spending habits. Given the amount of money I have lost with Options trading, I don’t even flinch anymore when it comes to spending money. Now I fly mostly business or first class, I buy things without second thoughts, I eat out more often than not, and I spend on just about anything that peaks my interest.
LarryCheungCFA : This could be the dumbest thing I've ever heard. 99% sure you're just a troll with nothing better to do.
KPI Champion LarryCheungCFA : Unfortunately not trolling.. rather a realisation.
Have a good day.
KNJW : I have lost ~$17k for couple of weeks but the stock market taught me how to save and invest. I have started with $10k investment in UCO back in May 2020 and later $15K in HZOZF. These 2 was very profitable. But over the course of 3rd and 4th Q of last year invested 20% of my paycheck and now my investment is $165k.
FuuL : Yeah it makes sense! The only thing is that money spent on luxuries could also be invested. So it is tricky philosophy. Anyways, let's keep rocking!
nepia02 : Enjoy your life there is nothing wrong with treating yourself to some of the finer things in life just make sure your covered.
DanDiem : This is a galaxy brain way of looking at things after blowing up your account with otm weeklies, good on you op
-grover : "I lost significant money engaging in risky financial activity, so who cares if I throw away money on luxuries and momentary pleasures."
Better to adopt sound investing habits that actually grow wealth, and then you can indulge yourself within reason and with a sense of security.
Ruby002 -grover : Can you give any tips on how to develop investing habits
i2nS0RpX9F : Options trading is gambling, to make wealth you need to invest long term in a diverse index funds.
nqOlpMabfr i2nS0RpX9F : Options trading can be as risky or as conservative as you want them to be. There's literally an unlimited amount of ways and combinations you can trade options. What you often see at the front page of alot of financial subreddits are usually the more risky plays with either big wins or big losses. That is why options often get a bad rep. In reality you can trade options even safer than bogle if you choose (with most likely less returns of course)
