No not a reason at all. I also lower my credit card fees to the extent possible. I (and Amazon) have plenty of transaction processing choices

Even though the fee is coming from the issuing bank, it comes from the interchange fees the banks take Amazon. If the fees are nothing or close to it, then those fees can go towards enabling lower prices for consumers.

Of course it could be that way as it is in Australia but then you have no business for the Banks. Visa fee will be always there :) google what has happened in Australia and you’ll see that consumer prices didn’t go down … where the money is? Merchants margins. There is no free lunch in this business
