$General Motors(GM.US)$ The "bubble" will burst when investors start to question profitability. You can hide the losses from 100K to 500K EV sales if only your ICE business can take the hit because of the emission fines.
That is why $Ford Motor(F.US)$ cut all the ties with $Rivian Automotive(RIVN.US)$ while holding 12% of the company. Ford knows for sure that Rivian can not make any money on their trucks with $135K battery packs. It is impossible, allright, unless the price is over $100K. Then again, how many you can sell over $100K? Humongous cash burn in the next year will show it everybody anyway.
Let's look at $VOLKSWAGEN A G(VWAGY.US)$ in China. It is trying to sell ID vehicles in China at 40% off the price it is selling in Europe. Yeah, VW can only sell IDs in China if it prices them lower than $BYD Co.(BYDDF.US)$ models. $Tesla(TSLA.US)$ and Chinese will determine how much you can ask for your mass-market EV, not the cost of the vehicle.

  • Carlo Bevans : Because the "bubble" will burst when investors start to question profitability.******** Déjà vu 2000... but today with free money, and the government as the go to VC acting like billows inflating the ever more dangerous bubble.......... just a different approach to the same wash, rinse ( and ring out)and repeat game.

  • MoreOfTheSame : What is a ID vehicle? Never heard of it. VW is now considered low end in China.
