It remains to be seen how transmissible, lethal and vaccines-resistant is the newly emerged South Africa variant and which unfortunate major economy will be its first "testing bed".  The data and related resultant actions from the "test bed" will then send a clear signal to the world and concretely affect stocks movements.

Let's hope the newly emerged variant is not the combo king of highly transmissible + lethal + vaccines-resistant to current vaccs.
