Hedge against inflation
I have sold cash secured Puts in $Conagra Brands (CAG.US)$, $American Tower Corp (AMT.US)$ and $Suncor Energy (SU.US)$ this year. While none have been assigned, I have generated over $1,500 in profit in the last 8 months. (CAG $250, AMT $615 and SU $725). If you had owned 100 shares of each, you would have collected 3 dividend payment totaling ~$585. Currently the only option still in place is my Dec monthly expiration in SU at the $24 Strike Price.

Revana : I generally hate "look how much I made" posts (I see them as generally "mine is bigger than yours posts"), but I appreciate yours. it shows the value of conservative option selling which so many here don't want to engage in.
Thanks!
HK IPO Radar : To be fair, you are comparing selling Puts with just owning the stocks long and collecting dividends, you should also include comparing the additional income of continuously writing covered calls against them several times per year.
