$S&P 500 Index (.SPX.US)$Stocks have historically, not been so great either. Real assets, like farmland and real estate have been better.
I believe equities are the best asset class to own throughout a lifetime.
In times of inflation, hard assets are better. Hard assets that pay dividends are even better (stocks of companies that own hard assets that earn income). I bought AMT about 15 years ago (but unfortunately did not add to my position along the way until about a year ago with DRIP).
Guys what are your thoughts on $Two Harbors Investment (TWO.US)$, $BXP Inc (BXP.US)$, $W.P. Carey Inc (WPC.US)$, $BHP Group PLC (BBL.US)$, $Rio Tinto (RIO.US)$, $Southern Copper (SCCO.US)$, and maybe some black gold like $Chevron (CVX.US)$and $Exxon Mobil (XOM.US)$?

hairless : I like O&G a lot. I own both CVX and XOM, but think SU and EOG are better value today.

Abdul Dickson : I own a small position in BXP, as I do in RIO. Both have some risks which can still go eitherway. Office REITs are not yet totally back. Im willing to take a little risk here because of BXPs scale.
Moo News Support Abdul Dickson : RIO has the china building problem looming. Thankfully the company would be very profitable even if iron ore plummets further.
